Filling a gap for espresso-based cafés in Keningau town is Wilson Gan, the farmer who added “café owner” to his resumé 18 months ago. Local young professionals in this town that is a 2-hour drive away from KK City were in need of a hang out spot with good environment, and instead of travelling far to even get a sip of good coffee, why not bring good coffee t...o Keningau, right? Named after his own profession (a crofter is a Scottish farmer who runs a rented farm), his vision for the place is for it to be a gathering place, where people can gel together and share meaningful conversations. The first few months of Crofter Café’s opening was spent educating the locals community on café culture, which is just the tip of the iceberg that is his passion to develop the interior of Sabah, adding value to the local communities.
